Opera Box 2011 New Gallery Peckham / Goldsmiths

Concealed within the box, I react to excerpts of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring by crashing the cymbals. I then perform two Gluck arias from within the box gesturing with props through the holes. I exit the box having transformed myself into a diva. After intense stage fright during and after Motor Duet and Horn Duet (see Earlier Performance Works) I constructed boxes to perform from within as an antidote. Opera Box was the first of my box performances
