Appropriation – the Musical! March 2012 – Rotterdam

A 22-minute musical filmed over 24 hours in Rotterdam in which I burst into song in public to gain the public’s reaction to Foxy Moron (my performance alter-ego) attempting to live life as a musical. All the songs are pre-existing – I appropriated them from well known musicals such as Sweet Charity and Guys ‘n’ Dolls. My relentless efforts and the publics’ general lack of response render this a both successful and amusing failure of the quest for the acceptance of the musical in daily life. Screened at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam, as part of the Musical Symposium, March 2012.
