Fourplay is a video composition demonstrating its punning title in technique and sound. I, as Foxy Moron, explore my instruments as I would a lover. I play them and play with them, tease sound from them, exploring positions, fingerings, touch and effect.
I filmed each instrument separately and edited the four sessions together in an attempt to aurally and pictorially describe the sense of physical and emotional tension in the temporal abyss of foreplay.
Scoring is documentation – the score acts as the potential for the work to be recreated. Fourplay’s existence as a dormant, flat, silent, image loaded with the potential to activate and be activated is essential.
