The Oweds emerged in 2015 – my research into the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus – the musician who’s gifts who could calm any being – led me to Black Orpheus: Satre’s text, Beir’s Journal and Camus’ film Orfeu Negro and then evolved into Bussa, Senzeni Na, Asylum, White Noise, Suspension, Diaspora(s), Survivance, Mundana, Humana 1.0 and Humana 2.0 – a selection of which were presented for my PhD/DPhil at Oxford University and can be accessed via and most recently, Owed to Chiron (The Wounded Healer) my first solo exhibition in London.
